Fine Art Print Development

Artists who have a specific print-related project in mind but do not have the technical know-how or equipment to develop prints that meet their standards on their own should consider applying for our Fine Art Print Development Program. The program begins with a one-on-one project consultation, during which the project goals are discussed and a plan for its execution is formed. Participants work with our expert printmakers to develop quality prints that represent the participant’s vision and make sense with their practice. Prints developed can utilize any of the techniques that we offer here at IS Projects and may combine techniques as desired. Over the course of the program, participants will define their idea, determine best techniques and materials, and create the print. Participants determine how involved in the production of their prints they would like to be during their studio time, from having no more than assistance or oversight from their collaborator to having their collaborator handle the majority of production. Upon completion of this program, participating artists can expect to have completed prints that are finished, signed and frame ready.

IS Projects has been working collaboratively with artists to bring their printmaking dreams to life since 2014. We have worked with hundreds of artists over the years to create thousands of prints that have gone into prominent collections nationally and internationally. We strive to provide a professional environment where fruitful collaborations can occur.

Artists’ Book Development

The Artists’ Book Development Program is designed to help artists dive into the world of creating artists’ books. Artists’ books can be described as a book that is a piece of art or a piece of art that borrows from the book form. A key factor in defining an artists’ book is that the artists’ intention is to create a standalone work of art. Beginning with a project consultation, participants in this program will work with our team of experts to define the goals of the project, determine the ideal materials and structure, develop the layout, print, and bind the project. Projects can incorporate any of the hand printmaking techniques that we specialize in at IS Projects and can also include more industrial printing techniques such as digital and offset printing. The program is designed to allow artists to be as hands-on with the production of their book as they would like to be, from completing production in their home studio after an in-studio demo here at IS Projects, to having the staff here at IS Projects handle it all. Upon completion of this program, participating artists can expect to have a finished book project that is exhibition ready.

IS Projects has been publishing artists’ books since 2015 through our Existent Books program. Existent Books are included in several prominent collections including Sotheby’s, National Gallery of Art, University of Miami Special Collections, Jaffe Center for Book Arts, Ringling School of Art Special Collections, Decker Library Special Collections at the Maryland Institute College of Art and many more. Our lead collaborator, Ingrid Schindall, has been collaborating with artists on book projects since 2013 and has worked closely with many artists to help bring their visions to life.
