June 2021 Newsletter
/INTO THE FOLD
With a successful 2021 Existent Books Artist Residency under our belt and four new Summer interns and two Key Holder Residents in the studio, the shop is ablaze with projects and lots of extra hands to help out with production. We can’t wait to reveal more about our upcoming Existent Books with Carol Prusa and Elia Khalaf in next month’s newsletter but can promise they will highlight some never-before-seen book structures and techniques for our Existent Books lineup.
We are excited to announce that Existent Books will be featured in a major exhibition entitled Into the Fold at the Coral Springs Museum of Art, opening July 6th. The show will span 17,000 sq ft, illuminating each artists’ book through behind-the-scenes didactic materials from each project’s process and feature a body of work from the 11 published artist’s individual practices. We hope to see you at the reception on July 22nd!
If you are looking to get more involved at the studio, exploring all things print, paper and book, we have Studio Rental options and Private classes available to the public on our website. More details can be found below!

Just You and Me by Mark Fleuridor
On View May 17 - July 6, 2021
Mark Fleuridor is a Haitian American artist born and raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in Painting. Fleuridor explores his own personal history within his background and familial experiences. These topics are explored through mediums such as printmaking, painting, quilting and collage. Fleuridor has completed artist residencies such as Vermont Studio Center (VT), the Oxbow Artist Residency (MI) and is currently attending Oolite Artist Residency in Miami, FL. Fleuridor is a recipient of the Oolite Arts Ellies Awards 2020 for his project Being Held and Beach Day, a project that created public murals in Miami that focused on families and their love for each other.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Just you and Me portrays relationships between the artist and his loved ones. Using patterns, printmaking, and quilting, Fleuridor explores memories of endless summers while growing up in Miami, Florida. Inspired by key moments in his life, these works depict a quiet, steaming environment where Fleuridor spent most of his time with his siblings.
The IS Projects gallery is open for appointments and has its lights on 24 hours so that the public can safely view the show through our big, storefront windows.
