Week 3 April 18th, 6-9pm
Week 4 April 25th, 6-9pm

Print Camp is geared towards printmakers who are looking to push their artistic practice by thoroughly digging into a project both technically and conceptually. This print camp highlights one of the earliest printmaking process as students focus on bringing an ambitious intaglio print project to life. Participants will not only be pushed to "think print" while developing a drypoint plate, but also how to use their plate to make multi-colored prints and print layers on top of one another. Each week students use their plates to explore different applications of color including: monoprinting, chine colle, paper dyeing and A la poupée color wiping.

Students will get a sense of how it feels to work in a communal space surrounded by artists with similar interests and receive critical feedback to develop their work. Students will also learn how to use and respect a large fine art press. Students will leave the class with a working knowledge of shop etiquette, intaglio mark making and printing techniques as well as a small portfolio of prints and their own plate.

This class will certify you to reserve and use our etching press during open studio hours.
