(The current state of the future home of IS Projects)
I just got word from Mr. Doug McCraw, founder of FATVillage, that the studio will be ready tomorrow. That means IS projects move in can start at the end of this week. We’ll be renting a 26’ box truck with a lift gate to get all of the heavy presses down there. I’ve been agonizing over the floor plan for weeks but it will all be worth it when each press finds its new home. It’s so exciting to see everything coming together!
Current Studio Equipment Includes:
10"x15" C&P, Vandercook SP15 Proof Press, two 5"x8" Kelsey Excelsior table top presses, 6.5"x10" Craftsmen Imperial Press, loads of lead type, some wood type, 44" Board Shear, Challenge 19" Paper Guillotine, Belt-Powered Leather Skiver, cast iron book press, one-hole paper drill, floor model corner rounder, floor model pamphlet stapler, AB Dick paper folder, Toshiba laser copy machine, and several large flat files that will be available for monthly rental
It all adds up to about 10,000lbs of equipment that will be available to all artists interested in working in or learning the craft.
